its the ann arbor film festival
the words say it all
dj forest of hott java
delicious cupcake station mini cupcakes
it was a full house
yummy food
shei looking fierce with one of the aaff coordinators(her jumpsuit is to die for)
sam, donald harrison, and koun
ben russell
koun and tomonari nishikawa
day one has concluded of the much anticipated ann arbor film festival. yesterday night the michigan theater was filled with beautiful people, delicious food, and breathtaking films. as the doors opened, the lobby quickly filled and the dj forest of hott lava was at the spin tables; pumping out the beats to get the evening's opening ceremony underway. The plates of hor d'oeuvres where all catered by ann arbor's finest restaurants from the cupcake station to sava's to morgan and york. sam and i mixed and mingle and was later joined by koun. besides stuffing our faces with food, we talked to two of the festival's jurors; bed russell and tomonari nishikawa who were both honored to be the jurors for this years' ann arbor film festival. executive director harrison, who was decked out in a classic calvin klein suit was surrounded by crowds of people, but we manage to sneak a quick interview with him in before the screening began.

as eight o'clock neared, the crowd began making their way to the auditorium and it quickly filled within 10 minutes. the set of 12 short films that were screened ranged from outright bazaar to 11 minutes of beautiful nostalgic stories.
check out www.aafilmfest.org for a list of the 12 film screenings on opening night. in addition check out sheimagazine.com for sam and koun's screening reviews.
what i am anticipating the most is friday's screening of rodrigo blaas's short alma. flying lotus's world premiere sounds cool too.

oh gloomy day
the cluttered desk
the sort of organized closet
the first view you see stepping foot into my room
it's early saturday morning and i am back at home with the parents eating breakfast. instead of sun peeking through the curtains the sky is a gloomy grey.

yesterday was a beautiful day so i decided to wear my maxi dress and layered it with two cardigans; i received so many compliments! i regret not taking a picture. i spent the evening cleaning my junkie room, then i headed out to oxford housing to help the japan student association prepare for the japanese culture festival, which happens to be today. everyone should go! it is at the east hall...but i do not know the time, i am sure it will be in the evening. just as i was about to head out the door, everyone realized that we were sort of rice! of all the things rice! we needed about 70 pounds of rice at 10:30pm! we were we going to find rice that late at night?! north campus of course! we sped up to the chinese market, but it was already closed! our last resort was kroger and by the grace of luck they had sticky rice! yay for us. after that adventure i retreated back home to do more cleaning....i still have to finish.
