after falling asleep at the art studying for global change i went back to my apartment to take a hot shower and eat before heading to the beautiful rackham graduate building on washington to study even more. i was suppose to meet up with little miss diem there, but the sand monster held her captive till nearly noon. the day was gorgeous and i was tempted to drop my studies and make way for the doors, but i did not give in and enjoyed the day's beautiful rays from inside the captive walls.

today was another beautiful day in ann arbor. with sophomore review in less than 19 hours and project deadlines closing in, my sleep schedule has become nonexistent. moreover, it seems as though everything in my closet has turned into black; for last semester i had cleaned everything out and the only things that were left were black. interesting. hopefully i can add some color into my wardrobe after i pay back my loans and bills. but i don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

after spending the whole night and morning and the duderstadt, i decided to wonder home @ 4 in the morning to my warm apartment when it was getting too cold and kathie left me to study alone. showering before i hit the duderstadt i saw my shei t-shirt hanging in my closet and grab that and a pair of skinny jeans. My hair was a mess so i decided to throw a hat on and the night was chilly, so a cardigan was needed. what better way to finish it off then with my favorite pair of boots. and yes, i did sleep in this outfit. life is too stressful at the moment to care.

this past sunday was the first annual biannual magazine launch for shei magazine. on the spin tables was duo shoot sucka creating the beats for the nights' entertainment which included performances by university of michigan dance crews: element 1 and funktion, along with the sopranos. clothing for the fashion show was provided by boutiques across ann arbor as well as the detroit metropolitan area. this number that i was wearing that night was something that i had in the back of my closet that i have always wanted to wear, and the magazine launch was the place to be seen in it. too bad, i didn't get to show it off for too long, since i decided to arrive fashionably late and only saw about half an hour of the show before it was over. maybe next time.

after a stop at the cherry martini to complete a photo shoot, kathie and i had dinner and stopped by the mall to pick up a couple of things for sheifest last this past sunday. i told myself that i was not going to buy any unnecessary things, but we stop at H&M and i saw the purple ruffle shirt that i have on in the picture for just a mere 5 dollars! what a steal, i could not help myself. i knew it would be part of the piece that i would wear that following monday, in which i would stay up all night and morning with kathie as we worked on projects that were due. that is art school and procrastination for you. its funny because here i am pulling another all nighter as i sit and type out this posting. i need to get my priorities in order. it sucks because i was set to complete my theater project, only to run out of hot glue sticks for my hot glue gun. don't you hate it when that happens? ha. just a couple of more week until i taste sweet freedom.

this past thursday, in one of my art classes(cfc iii:nature) we paid a visit to my professor's under-construction stale bale house and his farm. while there, we feed a llama, saved a baby lamb from in between some logs, and mixed adobe. although the weather was crappy, we made the best of it and everyone had a great time. the lamb that shelby saved was too adorable, we wanted to take it home with us. i want to go back.

after a beautiful monday in ann arbor, the sun decided to retreat on tuesday. i decided to dig through my closet and see what i can find. an olive top and purple skirt caught my eye. i forgot i had these two pieces. looking out the window i had a feeling it was going to be a cloudy day.

the sky was an eerie grey, which made me want to sleep the day away in class. my last class ended early so i was able to go back to my apartment for a quick lunch before heading to peer advising (which is an epic fail right now, since no one wants to show up). as five o'clock rolled around the sky began to clear up and there was sun, but unfortunately i did not have the luxury of bathing in the sun, for that was when peer advising began. for four hours straight i sat secluded in the sewing studio, hoping that some form of humanity would come in for advising, but to my dismay, no one came, but a girl who was just working on her project for a brief three minutes. but hopefully things pick up.

for a project, my class was assigned to paint plastic flamingos. i decided to stick them in the upper level of the courtyard since i did not want to carry them up to my apartment only to bring them back down. as my work shift concluded tonight, i passed by the courtyard only to see my flamingos gone! someone kidnapped my pink flamingos. to the person who took them, please return them with both legs and head attached. if you do, i promise that you will not suffer any repercussions.

after two semesters of collecting wrappers, the final products have been completed. this year's just green sustainable fashion show took place in the pendleton room in the union. it featured sustainable clothing from store and boutiques in the ann arbor area and of course moi. i had a collection of six pieces and was the only designer, just like last year. for more pictures visit formzine.com.
